James Robert Creekmore

James focuses his primary practice advising and counseling clients on securing, protecting and enforcing trademarks, service marks, copyrights, patents and trade secrets through contracting, licensing, registration and litigation of each.

Outside of intellectual property counseling and litigation, James heads up all business litigation for the Firm. James has handled complex business disputes ranging from contract disputes, business torts, property disputes and other claims of unfair competition, in federal and state courts, both trial level and on appeal.

James has become quite the advocate and counselor for small and emerging businesses, startups and entrepreneurs in Southwest Virginia, particularly in the Roanoke and New River Valleys. James spends countless hours assisting these young and growing businesses in every way, from strategy and growth plans to seeking capital and assisting with professional development and mentoring. As part of this continuing endeavor, James founded studio2.0, a new and premier coworking space in Blacksburg.

James is licensed to appear before the Virginia Supreme Court, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of the United States. In the last 20 years, he has successfully handled cases before the Virginia Supreme Court, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Tennessee Court of Appeals.
