Victor O'Neil Cardwell

Victor Cardwell is among Virginia’s most recognized and accomplished experts in labor and employment law. Victor specializes in workplace violence, diversity, harassment and the Fair Labor Standards Act. He is sought after for training in a number of areas of labor and employment law across Virginia and is experienced in representing management in union organizing campaigns and union avoidance techniques.

He has practiced before the National Labor Relations Board and has significant experience before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Victor has written and lectured on all kinds of areas involving labor and employment law.

Prior to joining Woods Rogers in 1991, Victor served as Deputy Associate Chief Counsel with the U. S. Department of Labor Benefits Review Board. He has served as a member of the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association, representing Virginia, and was appointed to the Human Rights Council of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Victor has been named to the Best Lawyers in America list since 2006 and recently has been included among the Super Lawyers in Virginia. Virginia Living magazine also named Victor a Legal Eagle.

He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and law degree from Washington and Lee School of Law.

Victor has lent his legal talents to help such non-profit organizations as Family Services of the Valley, Mill Mountain Zoo, Child Health Investment Partnership, Center in the Square, United Way of Roanoke Valley, Virginia Commission on Human Rights and many more.
