The Resiliency and Vigor You Need On Your Side
Samantha Smith is a family law attorney in Roanoke, Virginia. She has the resilience and vigor to fight for her clients to reach the best outcome in their case.
Samantha was born and raised in Salem, VA. She attended Davis and Elkins College in WV, where she accepted an athletic scholarship to play softball. She graduated from D&E with honors and received a Bachelor’s degree in English and an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice. After actively competing on her college’s debate team, she knew it was her true ambition to become an attorney.
Samantha attended law school at Elon University School of Law, where she was an active member of the Moot Court Board and had the honor of competing at the ABA National Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C. She was also elected by her peers to serve on the board of Elon’s Women’s Law Association.
Samantha is licensed to practice law in both North Carolina and Virginia. After graduating law school, Samantha practiced in North Carolina at Dummit Fradin in Greensboro before returning to her hometown in Virginia to practice at Slovensky Law, PLLC, where she is still currently practicing. Samantha was voted by her colleagues into the 2022 North Carolina Business Legal Elite "Young Guns" category. Her most notable wins have been in the arenas of domestic violence protective orders and child custody matters, but she has experience settling difficult property division matters and resolving large estates.
Samantha manages domestic cases with compassion but fights aggressively when it’s time for court. She is an attorney who will listen compassionately to your questions and concerns and explore every option with you to reach the best outcome in your case. She understands that many matters can be solved with skilled negotiation, but she is also not afraid to fight vigorously in court for her clients, even when the facts are unfavorable. While many attorneys push for settlement outside of court because they are afraid of trial, Samantha knows that sometimes trial is the only way to reach a fair outcome, and she is not afraid to put on her boxing gloves and fight it full-force.
When she’s not fiercely advocating for her client in the courtroom, Samantha enjoys going to the gym, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family.
