I hired this law firm due to the consultation being exactly who I needed in a lawyer for my case. Once hired, Rick and Michelle Derrico do not follow thru with their statements. They were provided funds in a retainer. Michelle was the only one I was allowed to speak to and once hired she became very ...rude. Sent out a demand letter and I had not heard from them in 2 total months. I tried reaching out for an update as circumstances with my case were changing and I needed to make them aware. Michelle and Rick stated they did not need to provide me with any information or decision making on my case and stated they no longer were representing me. If you want a lawyer to take you for your money and do the bare minimum with no results then this lawyer is for you. Beware!!

Rick was more than friendly and helpful when I spoke with him on the phone the first time, which definitely made me feel comfortable in an otherwise stressful situation. He was straightforward and honest as well as experienced which allowed me to feel good about the case going in. Watching him wo...rk in the court room was like magic! He was professional and courteous yet well-read in Virginia law, giving us the upper hand for the entirety of the proceedings. The officer was unable to even state his case due to the inadmissible way in which the information/ evidence was attained, ultimately resulting in the case being dismissed. This would not have been the outcome had I chose to represent myself or gone with another law firm, as Rick was quick on his feet and obviously very experienced. Do not go into court alone, always lawyer up!!

I've worked with Rick & Michelle Derrico on many occasions. They have assisted me with legal matters related to a rental property I own, with real estate contract issues my clients have confronted, and with Homeowner Association issues, where I'm the treasurer. Without exception, in all my dealings... with them, I have been very pleased with their knowledge of the law, professionalism, accessibility, and just downright common sense. They're easy to talk with. Also, as a real estate agent, they have referred several of their clients to me -- people going through divorce and families settling estates. Again, without exception, their clients I've met have all been very satisfied with and complementary of the quality of services the Derricos provide.

Rick is an engaging fellow. He not only has years of experience as a trial lawyer, he has a depth of life experience to draw upon that enables him to provide advice on a broad array of topics. He has helped me write and amend Wills and other documents. He knows the law but is also quite adept at expl...aining the ins and outs of legal practice. There's always something he's thought of that hadn't occurred to me, something that should be included or might better be left out. Though he appears to have a thriving practice, he's generally available on short notice, almost always quick to return a phone call if he's not immediately available. I genuinely enjoy my conversations with Rick.

Rick helped me with both personal and professional legal work. I worked through divorce with Rick and he always had good advice which accounted for the various parties in the situation including the children. I appreciated his consideration of my kids along with my best interest. He does this in a n...on-judgmental manner. Likewise, as a business owner, Rick was an invaluable extension of my team. He made sure I understood how to structure my business entity and then worked to continue protecting my interests as I hired employees, negotiated contracts, and planned for the future. I never hesitate to reach out to Rick even for seemingly minor questions. He offers reasonable rates, excellent advice, and is patient with my questions.
