Poor attention to detail and not invested

I hired Whitby for a felony eluding police charge that I received in Brunswick County, VA, and he never figured out how to spell my name properly. This is a testament to his lack of investment in me as a client and his poor attention to detail. For example, I discovered that he submitted several cour...t motions with my name misspelled. Letters mailed to me from his office also had typos. Further, he failed to prepare me for hearings whatsoever and barely spoke in court, which allowed the prosecutor to always win. Whitby never asked to see any evidence against me and never made efforts to secure evidence on my behalf while I was in custody. I was denied a bail bond and he misdvised me about the right to appeal the decision (of denying my bail) to a higher court. He also failed to object to false statements made about me in court by the prosecutor and failed to develop a defense for me whatsoever. He didn't appear to be invested in my case at all. I would've been better off representing myself. I wouldn't recommend hiring Whitby if you intend to win your case.

Highly Recommended for Defense of Traffic Violation / Speeding Ticket

I received a traffic violation in the state of Virginia, where I do not live, and was provided misinformation by the issuing officer that the ticket was payable online. I found when I went to pay that it was in fact not payable online and due to the nature of the charge I was due to appear in out-of-...state court in 6 days. Mr. Whitby of Outten and Whitby P.C. returned my call to his office within 5 minutes, took my case on extremely short notice, and represented me in court at the time of my hearing. Mr. Whitby successfully reduced my charge, and promptly sent me a letter of instruction to resolve the matter based on the verdict. I highly recommend him for defense against charges of traffic violations and speeding tickets.
