Denis Charles Englisby

I was referred to Denis after having two horrible experiences from other local lawyers. Denis was my saving grace. He didn't drag anything out and was straight to the point. He is compassionate and actually has a heart. And to top it off, he is understanding and not out to bleed clients dry. Forever ...thankful for him and will always be highly recommended by me!!!!

Unorganized! Missed court twice. Then called shocked and asked did I know about it. Lost files which he still hasn’t found, failed to communicate with myself and other attorney and was completely unprepared with facts of case, didn’t send interrogatories or give other attorney the evidence we planned... to use so it couldn’t be used in court. Made false promises about outcome and vacation dates, didn’t return calls, didn’t even read other attorney’s evidence so had no idea what questions to ask or when false documents were presented or when false accusations were made. Please trust me and look elsewhere. I honestly think dimentia has set in because he forgot the few things he actually let me get in when we did communicate. Arrogant and makes up charges for things he never presented. I thought lawyers were supposed to intimidate the other party, not their own clients! I’m trying to give you honest advice because my case is over so I hope this saves someone else from the heartbreak and disappointment his representation or lack thereof caused me.

Hired him for my divorce and custody case he had no communications with the GAL and left it all to me. I had no clue about how to handle any of this- that’s why I hired an attorney. 3 months before my court date I finally hired another attorney because Denis was hard to reach- he would not email only... communicated by phone when I could get him and had a horrible attitude as if I was inconveniencing him. After hiring another attorney he hits me with an 8k bill! And he had not done anything- my ex’s attorney drafted the separation agreement etc.

WIthheld paperwork; broke client confidentiality, did not notify me of court date until the day after the court date. Met with other party and her lawyer without informing me prior to or after the meeting. As a result, I had to fire him and represent myself. I lost more that $100,000 due to his po...or practice. Some law students should research this case for a class exercise.
