Matthew Gregory Finley

Matthew G. Finley is an experienced trial attorney, having tried hundreds of trials, including jury trials. Most important to him is getting to know each client, learning their story, and providing the best representation for their circumstances and needs.

Mr. Finley was born in Corbin, Kentucky on the other side of the Appalachian Mountains. He went to the University of Kentucky on scholarship, graduating Summa Cum Laude and being initiated into Phi Beta Kappa. He then moved to Virginia and attended William and Mary Law School, graduating in 2014. After graduating he worked for the Hampton City Attorney’s Office. From that point Mr. Finley practiced five years as a prosecutor defending the rights of victims, ultimately as a Senior Assistant Commonwealth Attorney in Hampton responsible for special victims.

Throughout that time, Mr. Finley worked diligently arguing and trying cases on behalf of individuals who were wronged, who had their lives interrupted at no fault of their own, and who needed to find a way to continue living. He uses his experience and knowledge in trial work to represent every client with the level of passion they would expect from their attorney.
