Wonderful Lawyer

Let me start by saying I am a middle class working mother. I don't bring in gobs of money, and I live pay check to pay check supporting my family. I have been going through a custody battle for near on a decade. I have had half a dozen lawyers. They all talk a big game in your consultation. They say ...everything you want to hear. They put layers and layers of sugar on you, and when you leave you're thinking 'this is the one, this is the lawyer for me.' Then months go by, they charge you 100 dollars per email. 50 dollars for a 5 minute phone conversation, if they return your call at all. They show up at court and look pretty, but don't really have a lot to say. They just want out of there as soon as possible. By the time I got to Ms. Maiden I was broken. I had no hope, I had no strength, I was tired in so many ways, I really just didn't care. It seemed like every other day there was a summons on my door, because the father of my child uses the legal system as a weapon. Ms. Maiden didn't put a front on. She is a strong willed woman, and she's not going to hold your hand and lead you to the water to drink. She's going to make you stand up, and help you walk to the water with you. She didn't coddle me or baby me, she gave me strength. She told me what I needed to hear whether I wanted to hear it or not. I was already broken down, so she helped build me back up. I needed more than a lawyer at this point, and I got one. She first appeared in court with me during a show cause. I've never been to one of these before. I didn't know what to expect. It occurred to me that if she hadn't taken my case I would be standing up here all alone. I don't know the law. I didn't know how to defend myself. Let me tell you this woman is a powerhouse. She's not kissing ass, she earns the respect given to her. She defended me fiercely. Her knowledge of the law was astounding. She thought of things that I never even dreamed of in my defense. She took a situation that could have been severely detrimental to me, and gave me the best possible outcome. So many lawyers use our ignorance of the law to take advantage of us. Ms. Maiden used her knowledge of the law to protect me, thus protecting my daughter. I would have ended up in jail or fined if it wasn't for her. I don't write reviews. I haven't met a lawyer that I wanted to review until I met her. Watching her in action was amazing. Please hear me when I say she's worth it. You spend all this time googling lawyers, and you pray you get one that is decent. Ms. Maiden has been, by far out of all the lawyers I have had, the best one to stand next to me and defend me.

Excellent Lawyer!!!

I hired Mrs. Maiden for a child custody dispute, not only once, but twice. Without hesitation, I would hire her again. She was professional, kind and so worth the money. She explained all the negatives and positives before we went to court. She asked many questions and required a lot of paperwork but... when we went to court, she was VERY prepared. She didn't miss a beat with any questions or documentation. It was an extremely emotional time for me but she was always there leading me through the process with her kind spirit and knowledge. I would highly recommend Mrs. Maiden as your attorney. You'll be in great hands!!!

Divorce attorney

I hired Ms.Tavss as my divorce attorney as my husband filed divorce because he was having affair and living with the woman shortly after seperating. I was married 22 years, we had two children together. I was a housewife for 90 percent of the marriage and very ill when he filed with the same illness ...now in its advance stages 15 years later. By law i was to receive half of each of my ex husbands 401 k plans and half of the money that we received from the sale of our home. I put the money in escrow from the sale which was only $3,700.00. Ms. Tavss gave my check from the sale of my home to my ex and i receved absolutely nothing nor from our 401k plans. She gave the check that was in escrow in my name from the sale of our house to my ex husband because she said she did not know where i was living but both my children and husband knew and my father who was the one that adviced her to put my half in escrow. She dropped my case after she spent all my money and accomplishing nothing because she said she was pregnant and had to lighten her cade load.

How could this have happened...

Upon first meeting with Ms Maiden she seemed eager to take on my divorce case. She was informed during our meeting of my husbands affairs as well as hitting me the week we separated, married 22 yrs., stay-at-home mom . Gave her the money she demanded for retaining her. Time goes by, tons of questions... to answer and mail back. Told to call for anything. I did. But, I must admit I was calling too often. She made it clear I was calling too often and to relax. For that, she was right. Anxiety was high. After putting out close to $7,000.00 to maintain her as my lawyer we had a meeting at the courthouse with my husband and his attorney. Something was off but couldn't put my finger on it. I was firm and told her I wasn't happy and wanted more from her. Ms Maiden looked at me and in a scolding voice said I could fire her. Ya Think? At $7,000.00 out already? My husband was a business owner and she wanted another $5,000 to get started in his company and another $5,000 two weeks after that and possibly more, depending on what is found. I told her it was impossible. Mind you, I had property to sell and could pay from that, but, she wanted all monies 'up-front'. Ms Maiden 'WAS NOT' working for me. She was doing 'NOTHING'. I believe it was close to 3 yrs. when Ms Maiden called to give me final court date. Once there I was stunned, shocked, angry because my husband's earnings were in the six figures, had 3 successful businesses that were thriving, businesses I helped him get off the ground and all she fought for on my behalf was $19,500.00 a year, forced out of my home and received a small portion from the sale, NO health insurance, NOTHING from husbands businesses (our home was paid for when my husband wanted to go into business for himself. I signed over my half in order for him to start the businesses), and a twelve year old car. I was in shock. I couldn't understand how this could happen. Ms Maiden came highly recommended, how could she do this. After a few weeks I went to two separate attorney's, showed them the final declaration, and I asked for their 'honest' opinion. Both firms, separate from one another, literally shook their heads and exclaimed they knew her personally and her work and that I got screwed. That it was 'not' the work she was known for. They each then told me what I "should" have been given. I should have been awarded at minimum, $50.000.00 alimoney yrly, keep my home, and have health insurance provided for at least five years. Ms Maidens lack of protecting my best interest has greatly cost me. My ex-husband now lives in a million dollar home on the water with his live-in girlfriend, has '4' thriving businesses, luxury cars, and me? Well, I'm very thankful my Lord sees my needs and helps me.

"I endorse this lawyer. I have worked with Ms. Maiden on several matters where I was a Guardian Ad Litem. My experience with Ms. Maiden is she is always concerned for her client's best interest. Ms. Maiden is conscientious in her responsibilities to her clients and to the Court. I have also had Ms. Maiden on the opposite side of the case. She is easy to work with and always professional, but a formidable opponent. I have a great deal of respect for her and learn something from her each time I have a case with her."
