Ms. Maiden was an absolute godsend during my divorce. After a really frustrating experience with my previous attorney, I was honestly overwhelmed and unsure who to trust. I hired Ms. Maiden to represent me in a bitter divorce and child custody case. Her services were not worth the over $7,500 in fees charged nor the constant stress I endure to this day. She was difficult to reach, painfully slow to respond, often demanded additional payments for what appeared to b...e little or no work by her and her staff, and miscommunicated a court appearance date that could have resulted in a warrant for my arrest (she knew I was out of town for work on that date). To this day, I owe an exorbitant spouse support amount, have no contact with my child, an my ex-spouse has sufficiently poisoned my relationship with my brothers. Let me start by saying I am a middle class working mother. I don't bring in gobs of money, and I live pay check to pay check supporting my family. I have been going through a custody battle for near on a decade. I have had half a dozen lawyers. They all talk a big game in your consultation. They say ...everything you want to hear. They put layers and layers of sugar on you, and when you leave you're thinking 'this is the one, this is the lawyer for me.' Then months go by, they charge you 100 dollars per email. 50 dollars for a 5 minute phone conversation, if they return your call at all. They show up at court and look pretty, but don't really have a lot to say. They just want out of there as soon as possible. By the time I got to Ms. Maiden I was broken. I had no hope, I had no strength, I was tired in so many ways, I really just didn't care. It seemed like every other day there was a summons on my door, because the father of my child uses the legal system as a weapon. Ms. Maiden didn't put a front on. She is a strong willed woman, and she's not going to hold your hand and lead you to the water to drink. She's going to make you stand up, and help you walk to the water with you. She didn't coddle me or baby me, she gave me strength. She told me what I needed to hear whether I wanted to hear it or not. I was already broken down, so she helped build me back up. I needed more than a lawyer at this point, and I got one. She first appeared in court with me during a show cause. I've never been to one of these before. I didn't know what to expect. It occurred to me that if she hadn't taken my case I would be standing up here all alone. I don't know the law. I didn't know how to defend myself. Let me tell you this woman is a powerhouse. She's not kissing ass, she earns the respect given to her. She defended me fiercely. Her knowledge of the law was astounding. She thought of things that I never even dreamed of in my defense. She took a situation that could have been severely detrimental to me, and gave me the best possible outcome. So many lawyers use our ignorance of the law to take advantage of us. Ms. Maiden used her knowledge of the law to protect me, thus protecting my daughter. I would have ended up in jail or fined if it wasn't for her. I don't write reviews. I haven't met a lawyer that I wanted to review until I met her. Watching her in action was amazing. Please hear me when I say she's worth it. You spend all this time googling lawyers, and you pray you get one that is decent. Ms. Maiden has been, by far out of all the lawyers I have had, the best one to stand next to me and defend me.
