Did a excellent Job...
I was represented by Mr. Protogyrou in June, 2019. Andy got all 5 of my charges dismissed. He was honest with me the whole entire case. Going back to the beginning when Andy got me out on a 500.00 bond mind you Im charged with 2 felonies and 3 misdemeanors and I'm from Atlanta and live in Atlanta. He is the best lawyer. I cannot tell you where I would be if it was not for Andy. If you are looking for a outstanding lawyer that honestly have your best interest at heart you better call Andy. I will always be forever grateful to Andy as I write this review as a free woman with all 5 charges dismissed. I'm so glad I choose Andy to represent me. Again Best Lawyer Hands Down. I remember my bondsman told me that I have the best lawyer in Virginia and he was so right. Thanks so much Andy, and GG you guys are the BEST!!!!

Excellent, Highly Recommended Defense Attorney
I was accused and held without bond by the Virginia Beach justice system for a crime I did not commit despite my not being a criminal, never having any issues going to court, and being a military veteran. Needless to say, I was getting railroaded by Virginia Beach authorities. To add insult to injury, I had gotten shafted by other defense attorneys during the earlier stages of my court processes. I decided to give the Law Firm of Protogyrou and Rigney a try and I soon was sorry that I hadn't hired Mr. Protogyrou to begin with. Andrew Protogyrou is a CONSUMMATE PROFESSIONAL, a man EXPERIENCED in the practice of law. Mr. Protogyrou is SKILLED in navigating the many intricacies of the justice system, expertise that is much needed when you're in a jam because the scales of justice throughout certain Hampton Roads judicial systems, especially Virginia Beach, are weighed down by prejudice, incompetence, and collusion. To mitigate these factors, Mr. Protogyrou had Virginia Beach judges recused from my case due to the conflicts of interest they pose and had another judge from out of town preside over my case and my case was presided over fairly by that judge and I WON MY CASE. In summation, Andrew Protogyrou is a REQUIREMENT for anyone accused of a crime to be successful in winning their case. One more thing, THE DUDE RAN FOR MAYOR.

Mr. Protogyrou did a great jo for my son
Mr Protogyrou represented my son in Norfolk District Court on a possession of marijuana charge. The police came to the duplex where my son lives on a burglar alarm call for the next door apartment. The police weren't truthful to my son when he willfully allowed them to enter his apartment to check no one was hiding inside. They saw a small amount of marijuana on the coffee table and told him they didn't care about it, they were making sure no one was hiding inside. When they found no one, they turned the call in to a drug call. Mr. Protogyrou was very prepared and had the 2 officers giving different versions of the event. The case was dismissed. He is an excellent attorney who was very prepared and has an excellent reputation in the community. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is having a legal issue.

Do not recommend
Do not recommend. Gave $8000 for him to represent my family member in March 2022 for a trial in August 2022. He never made initial contact with my family member, his client, ever. Went out on an extended leave of absence in early June, that's not the issue, he has not made any contact prior to this leave and we were never notified of the leave until 2 weeks before the trial after exhausting efforts to get some answer from this firm At this point it was too late to find an attorney to replace this one, and now at no fault of her own, my family members trial is pushed out another 6 months. I complained to the appropriate body and the firm retaliated by withdrawing from the case with my $8000 still in hand

Response from Andrew Protogyrou September 30, 2022
Mr. Protogyrou took family leave because of a family tragedy in early June and did not return to the office until the first week of September. Other lawyers and paralegals in the firm handled this matter during his absence including speaking with the woman complaining in this post and giving her updates. Our firm was the fourth firm to enter into this case and had to withdraw for ethical reasons. The first three also all withdrew as counsel. The person writing this comment has been directed by the court to have no contact with the new counsel appointed by the court because of her past conduct with all counsel and the judicial system. As for the fee, the firm is examining how much work was performed and will return a large percentage of the fee once all the billing is complete.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter
"As a former prosecutor, I had the honor of seeing Mr. Protogyrou in action in the courtroom. He was always very aggressive but professional. It was a pleasure working with him as opposing counsel. He represents his clients well. I endorse this attorney."
