Biography
Since moving to Virginia Beach to be near family several years ago, Ryan E. Thum has practiced exclusively in family law, offering extensive experience in litigation, divorce and custody issues, particularly in his role as a court-appointed guardian ad litem. Mr. Thum has the utmost respect for his field of work and enjoys partnering with different professions of people who often weigh in on cases. Because of this, he considers himself a true “counselor-at-law.”
Mr. Thum earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Appalachia State University. He received his juris doctorate from Campbell University School of Law, where he served as a Constitutional Law tutor and was a member of the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Team and the Final Four of the Intramural Moot Court competition. He has been admitted into both the Virginia and North Carolina bars.

worst experience ever.
Totally incompetent, I spent 6 minths in jail due to Mr. Thums incompetence. He didn't know what he was doing and was totally intimidated by the Judge. He never followed up or returned calls. Was absolutely my worst nightmare.
