We had the pleasure of Alex Bell handling an unprecedented speeding/reckless driving ticket for our son in Northampton County on the Eastern Shore for us. Alex Bell took the time to gather our time line, text messages, along with social media messages that our son had placed with the time line of the officer's stop to ensure that the judge hearing the case understood this was not a typical reckless young man, but a young adult with a sudden onset of a mental illness who was actually placed on a new medication just a week prior that was not working for him. Our son was able to get help in a facility for 38 days after this and is still on the mend. The judge, for the first time in his career, took the time to hear the case presented by Alex Bell and understood that placing our son in jail was not the right decision for the individual. Jail time would only add to an already weak mental state. He did, in fact, impose a 90-day license suspension to ensure our son has the time he needs to heal before he gets behind the wheel to possibly endanger himself or anyone else.
