Thoughtful and diligent

Trust and heart
Trust and heart are the two words that I will use to describe working with Jim Lang. I trust Mr. Lang to do a great job for me, and let me know up front what my legal fees will total. In the past, he has given me the option to do some of the legal work myself in order to stay within my budget. Mr. L...

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter
"Jim and I litigated a case in U.S. District Court featuring complex environmental and admiralty issues. Shellfishermen filed suit against our respective clients - Jim represented VDOT and I represented a construction company - seeking multi-millions of dollars for alleged damage to leased shellfish beds arising from construction of the new Chincoteague Bridge. I took the case from state court to federal court under the Limitation of Liability Act and over 14 months of depositions and motions ensued. Jim repeatedly proved himself to be a very capable litigator able to quickly analyze a complex set of facts and issues and craft persuasive arguments. He also showed himself to be a man of integrity who can aggressively represent his client while dealing reasonably with people. Our discovery and motions practice poked significant holes in the plaintiffs' case, following which Jim's client was pleased to resolve the case with a token “pennies on the dollar” payment. Great lawyer."
