Class 1 misdemeanor reduced to defective equipment

I cannot recommend Douglas McGee highly enough. I was facing a Class 1 Misdemeanor for Reckless Driving (99/70) in Smyth County, which carries the threat of jail and a criminal record. Mr. McGee provided a clear roadmap from day one. He will guide you through exactly what you need to do—listen to him... and follow his instructions to the letter. Because I followed his expert advice, he was able to get my charge reduced to Defective Equipment, a non-moving ticket. No jail, no suspension, and zero points. He is a master of his craft.

A lawyer that will work for you

My name is Beverly, I received 2 traffic violations while driving through Virginia on was a misdemeanor. I was facing a suspension of my license and jail time or a hefty fine, but I was recommended to lawyer Douglas McGee. Mr. Douglas was a very wonderful help for me. Since I lived in Georgia and thi...s case was in VA. I don’t know what I would have done without him, he walked me through every step of the way. He made sure all that was needed for my trial was ready and done in the right order, and I didn’t have to go to court, he did it all for me. He got one of my violation dropped and the other one dismissed. I couldn’t have asked for a more God sent lawyer. I will recommend him to anyone that needs a traffic lawyer.

Superior Attorney!

Attorney Douglas McGee was superior in handling a family members driving infractions. He was timely, thorough, knowledgeable, and compassionate. He clearly does his job out of a sense of mission, not for monetary gain. I highly recommend Mr. McGee as your representative!

Misdemeanor Reckless Driving (26mph over) Reduced to Nonmoving Ticket

I came to Doug after being charged with reckless driving for going 61 in a 35 (26 mph over) in a small town in rural VA. This was my second misdemeanor speeding/reckless driving charge, with the first occurring just over a year prior—I thought I was toast. Doug was incredibly helpful. He gave me real...istic steps to complete before court, was always available for questions, and guided me through every stage of the process. He was confident in the courtroom and thanks to his work, my charge was reduced to a non-moving violation with no points on my license. I cannot recommend Doug enough—10/10 lawyer and a genuinely great guy.

Extremely competent attorney who treats you like a friend

I am an out of state driver who crossed a double yellow line to pass an unmarked County Sheriff vehicle. Needless to say, I was pulled over. The charge was Reckless Driving, a Class 1 criminal misdemeanor charge carrying 6 points. After talking with two other attorney’s offices, each felt that my cha...nces of conviction on the charge were high, but one emphasized that they would likely win on appeal. That attorney has an aggressive mail campaign and exhibits extensive pressure through multiple calls/texts/emails after the initial consultation. Doug, on the other hand, responds in a friendly, relaxed and knowledgable fashion. He takes the time to provide a thorough explanation of what to expect and court procedures. More importantly, he makes specific recommendations for actions the client can perform to increase the chances of a good outcome. Happily for me the outcome was a reduced conviction of Defective Equipment, a non-moving violation with no points. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Doug to represent me in the future. His responsiveness during the case couldn’t have been better.
