Amazing, Knowledgeable, and Friendly

When I first started looking for a lawyer for a ticket, I called four or five different lawyers, and of those Doug was the only one to call me back directly himself. He was the only one to give me more recommendations of actions I can take to increase my chances of a good outcome, then to simply go t...o driver improvement school. He Is incredibly friendly and easy to talk with. He helped me get my reckless driving failure to maintain control ticket brought down to a non-moving violation. If you ever need a lawyer Doug is well worth it.

Doug is a Miracle Worker

While driving through Smyth County, Virginia, I was issued a Reckless Driving ticket alleging that I was driving 100 MPH on a highway with a 70 MPH speed limit. I was not only unaware that I was speeding (I was driving an unfamiliar car at night on an empty highway), but was shocked to learn that I ...was now facing a misdemeanor charge. Given that the speed was in the triple-digits, there was a serious prospect of not only a permanent criminal conviction but also jail time. I was absolutely devastated, scared, and didn’t know what to do. Faced with such a serious situation, I reached out to a number of attorneys and law firms that I found online. Among these was the Riley & Wells law firm, who referred me to Doug McGee. Doug was nothing short of a godsend. From my very first conversation with Doug, I knew that he was the lawyer that I wanted to hire. It was immediately clear that this was an attorney who was not only knowledgeable and highly experienced in his craft, but was also a generous and caring person. I found him to be able to deliver his legal advice honestly and directly but, at the same time, with warmth and compassion. Despite not having even been retained yet, Doug was more than generous with his time and expertise, spending hours on the phone with me and my husband to discuss how best to mitigate my situation. His advice and guidance at this early stage was crucial to the successful outcome of my case. Doug was more than thorough with his recommendations on what steps I needed to take in advance of my court date in the hopes of being able to convince the judge or prosecutor to consider reducing my charge to improper driving. I diligently followed his recommendations to the letter (including, but not limited to, doing >100 hours of pre-trial community service, completing defensive driving courses, and getting speedometer calibrations). As a result, Doug was able to get my Reckless Driving charge dismissed. After paying $89 in court costs, I am now able to move on with my life. I cannot recommend Doug McGee highly enough. I am absolutely convinced that my case would have had a very different outcome had I not had Doug as my attorney, especially with him being so generous with his time and guidance in the first few days after getting the ticket. He is a truly incredible attorney—a godsend and a miracle worker.

Class 1 misdemeanor reduced to defective equipment

I cannot recommend Douglas McGee highly enough. I was facing a Class 1 Misdemeanor for Reckless Driving (99/70) in Smyth County, which carries the threat of jail and a criminal record. Mr. McGee provided a clear roadmap from day one. He will guide you through exactly what you need to do—listen to him... and follow his instructions to the letter. Because I followed his expert advice, he was able to get my charge reduced to Defective Equipment, a non-moving ticket. No jail, no suspension, and zero points. He is a master of his craft.

A lawyer that will work for you

My name is Beverly, I received 2 traffic violations while driving through Virginia on was a misdemeanor. I was facing a suspension of my license and jail time or a hefty fine, but I was recommended to lawyer Douglas McGee. Mr. Douglas was a very wonderful help for me. Since I lived in Georgia and thi...s case was in VA. I don’t know what I would have done without him, he walked me through every step of the way. He made sure all that was needed for my trial was ready and done in the right order, and I didn’t have to go to court, he did it all for me. He got one of my violation dropped and the other one dismissed. I couldn’t have asked for a more God sent lawyer. I will recommend him to anyone that needs a traffic lawyer.
