I am writing on behalf of this attorney who not only did his job but as a pro bono lawyer did better than a paid attorney from Blackburn Conte &Schilling) I will not name who the lawyer was but I will say Mr Simpson listened to everything - every little detail for a pre sentence report and presented... it to the Henrico county court beautifully. In regards to the other comment: your son had a violation ( not sure what it stemmed from but a year is actually not uncommon for a violation depending on the crime) not to mention- he was a pro bono lawyer on the case.

Samual Simpson is a Lawyer from Richmond Virginia. He represented my son in a probation violation case. It was pro bono work. For several weeks leading up to the trial my ex-wife and I tried to talk to him but never once did he return a call. Between us, we called at least once a week for 5 or 6 w...eeks or more. Finally one week before the case he came to the holding center and spoke with my son. He told him that he did not think my son had anything to worry about and that he would probably be put back on probation with time served. This conversation led my son to drop his plans to ask the courts to allow him to ask for permission to be allowed into a treatment center in lew of jail time. It also led him to drop a bond hearing so he could get out of jail for a few weeks leading up to trial. He wanted bond to have a chance to spend time with family, prepare for his court case by finding a job, and to come to court in nice clothes and a clear head. He spent the last week incarcerated believing this Lawyer. On court date, he was sentenced to 9 full months for a probation violation. Samual Simpson spent 3 minutes defending my son. Afterward he told me he did the best he could and the judge was more heavy handed than he thought he would be. He asked me if I had any more questions and still being stunned from the decision I said no. He went off to see when his next case was, relaxed and aparently having a good day. He did nothing as a pro bono lawyer for my son. On top of that his ignoring of many calls earns him a vicious criticism. I hope no other family or individual is in a position where this Lawyer is in charge of defending your loved one.
