Joseph Smith

Joe has been a dedicated workers’ compensation attorney since 2013 with experience handling all stages of litigation before the Virginia Worker’s Compensation Commission and Court of Appeals. Joe has been recognized by Virginia Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Workers’ Compensation since 2020.

Joe grew up outside of Charlotte, North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his undergraduate studies. He then attended the University of Richmond School of Law where he served as the Articles Editor for the University of Richmond Law Review. He spent the beginning of his career defending workers’ compensation claims for employers and insurers.

When not working with clients and colleagues, Joe enjoys following UNC sports, the Carolina Panthers, and the Washington Nationals. Joe enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and dog, as well as playing golf and seeing live music whenever possible.
