Break the bank

Where to start. I had a very contested custody matter and sought out what I thought was the best firm in Richmond. After initially paying a ridiculous retainer fee, everything spiraled downward. Ms.Finley does not care about your case, and only cares about racking up as much “billable hours (more l...ike minutes)” as she can. She doesn’t take into consideration any of your wants, and will push onto you what she wants. I’ve been through several custody matters, and even hired a new lawyer for the matter I originally hired Ms.Finley on and have received great results after moving on from Ms.Finley. Don’t be fooled by this firm, they will send you packing after they drained every penny they can get out of you.

Unprofessional and Hostile manner

I agree with the other reviewer that has stated that Ms. Finley behaves in a very hostile manner with you. I had worked with Alicia to try to quickly resolve a child custody case as well as a divorce. I ended up using another lawyer to finish up my divorce, although he was more expensive, he resolv...ed everything so much quicker and didn't rack up hours and not getting anywhere. Ms. Finley and her team grossly forwarded emails to me that she and her colleagues were speaking poorly (to say the least) about myself and my father. I find this just disgracing. I was going through a divorce that involved domestic violence and I was a victim of PTSD. If this is your situation I highly recommend seeking other counsel as I was retraumatized by Ms. Finley with her harsh and abrasive conversations with me.

Alicia is awesome!

I worked with Alicia Finley during my divorce, which was a very emotional time for me. Along with the typical issues that divorce brings – life disruptions, child custody and visitations, social stigma, and costs – there were some extenuating circumstances with my situation that really added to the ...stress of the process. Alicia was extremely good at all the legal details, and made sure that everything was handled correctly and in a timely manner. But, in addition to that, Alicia was very comforting and empathic to what I was going through. She was straight forward with me, and gave me all the information and advice that I needed, whether it was what I wanted to hear or not, but she did it in a way that really calmed my nerves and made me feel like everything would end up ok. Looking back, all the advice that she gave turned out to be 100% correct, and I’m so glad she was there for me. I cannot recommend Alicia enough.

Will work only for her interest

I hired this attorney for a very hostile divorce. Her aggressive posture was helpful at first but the effectiveness was diminished from the little consideration she put into my case. She got hostile with me and hung up the phone. I paid her thousands of dollars and she continually created obstacles t...o make the case worse and expensive. When I finally told her I did not want her services she billed me an insane amount of hours to be released from the case. She will be aggressive to you and the other party but her client is your continued money and not your best interests.
