My inability to act appeasingly and/or shut up when threatened or forced to do the bidding of an armed, deeply insecure man, as well as naïveté in judging the character of my associations, culminated in my arrest in late 2019. I was extraordinarily lucky to have Sydney Speight appointed as my lawyer.... Her office contacted me promptly and scheduled a consultation. As I told her what happened Sydney actively listened and took notes, frequently asking questions to establish timeline and context. She answered my (many) questions and I sent her the hour long audio recording I had of that night.
