Valley Cursillo, Co-Chair, 2005-2012. Valley Cursillo is a Catholic Christian organization that offers spiritual retreats to men and women in the Charlottesville and Harrisonburg areas.

PACEM, Volunteer, 2008-2009. Provided free legal advice to homeless men and women staying at Incarnation Catholic Church.

City of Charlottesville Planning Commission, 1997-2001.

In a bad spot!!!
When my wife and I were in a bad place,we knew there was only one thing we could do but we were scared. We thought we would be shamed and made to feel undeserving. That wasn't the case we called Mr. Slayton he was very prompt kind and able minded he let us know that we were not alone and many people face the same challenges. He kept us up to date step by step and was always there when we had a question. If you've hit a rough patch I would suggest Mr. Slayton over anyone else.

This year has been especially difficult for me what with COVID and trying to help my brother who is terminally ill and whose finances are in a shambles due to no fault of his own. Detailed and Personal Free Consultation
I think from the very beginning of our conversation Marshall knew that filing bankruptcy wouldn't be the best option for my family. With that in mind he still spent over 40 minutes of his time explaining several financial and legal options my family had. He provided detailed scenarios as well as contacts to help us if we decided to go down various avenues. I was nervous to meet with a lawyer but can honestly say Marshall was nothing but helpful and kind in our time of need.

A consummate professional
From the day we walked into Mr. Slayton's office, we were treated courteously and professionally. He immediately made us feel at ease and explained each step we would go through in our bankruptcy proceeding. We were told the cost at the beginning, so there were no surprises concerning what we would have to pay. When we got to Court, the proceedings went very smoothly, because he was completely prepared. Mr. Slayton was a Great bankruptcy lawyer. He was very helpful and informative. All of my questions or concerns we’re answered. His staff is very helpful and polite. I had no issues at all. Made one payment up front and that was it. I think his pricing is fair as well as I have dealt with other lawyers that charge for every email or time they have to meet with you.
