Michael Willoughby Sharp

Michael focuses his practice on civil litigation and employment law. Michael has an earned reputation as a skilled litigator having tried jury and bench trials in both state in federal court in a variety of matters. Examples of Michael’s litigation experience include the following:

• Procuring settlements for employee-plaintiffs for wage, overtime, contract, sex discrimination, race discrimination, disability discrimination, retaliation, and whistleblower claims
• Resolving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims for employer-defendants
• Representing plaintiffs and defendants in complex family trust and estate disputes and will contests
• Contesting and defending land use appeals in state court
• Representing homeowners and contractors in breach of contract, warranty, fraud, and consumer protection disputes
• Trying other complex civil matters involving business and commercial disputes, construction, real estate, personal injury, and insurance claims.

Michael offers legal insight and practical advice to local businesses and non-profits on employment matters. In addition to several speaking engagements to local business groups, Michael taught a Masters level course on Employment Law and Labor Relations at Bridgewater College.
