Honest, Ethical, Effective, Respected

Jason is one of the most ethical and straightforward lawyers I have ever met, which says a lot coming from someone who has worked for two (Florida) law firms. Initially, I met Jason in jail and went through my case with him. I faced 24 years and had no bond, but he absolutely took me seriously and ...that paid off. He called me as a witness at a preliminary hearing and I appreciated that so much. I am well spoken and comfortable in court. He took me at my word for that. Many lawyers would have been scared to put their client out there, even if the client was screaming for it. Jason had the exact right read on his client. Whatever your situation BE HONEST WITH HIM and trust his advice. Just 41 days after the charges were filed, 24 years got pled down to 91 days. He disintegrated the state's case in a little over a month. No felony. In another matter later, he gave me some great personal advice and also told me what he thought the plea range would be. Not only was he exactly right, but many lawyers would have said, hey give me a few thousand dollars and then we'll talk. His wise advice saved me that money because I knew that I was in the range for the plea. I have no doubt he could have won the case outright with Mr. Ransom, but you have to pick your battles and that misdemenor was not my hill to die on. It stuck with me that he cared about me as a person, and the advice he gave me spoke to that. When an attorney gives you wise counsel against their own financial best interests, I think that is not only notable but certainly worth a five star avvo review. Everyone in jail will tell you he is the best criminal defense lawyer in Winchester, Virginia. (A couple of other names also come up in that discussion, but I have no experience with them.) I believe they are right. I have such trust in Mr. Ransom that if I had any legal question, I would run it by him first. Even if it was not in his wheelhouse, so to speak, I would trust him to point me in the direction of the most credible answer. Mr. Ransom is one of the best lawyers I have ever had the pleasure of working with, and after seeing him in action in Court, I wholeheartedly recommend and endorse this lawyer without reservation or qualification. By luck of the draw, he was appointed counsel, but was head and shoulders above anything I have seen from any public defender, anywhere, ever. It is also obvious in the Courtroom that the judges respect him and other lawyers like him. Though he started as my public defender, I would now turn to him and retain him privately for any matter that comes up. He's that good and that's how much I respect his take on literally anything, but especially criminal defense. When was the last time you met a public defender like that? Mr. Ransom fights like hell for his clients. I cannot recommend this lawyer enough.
