Rebecca Eichler, a first-generation American, has practiced exclusively immigration law for over ten years. She began her career as a staff attorney at Hogar Hispano, Catholic Charities then with Legal Services of Northern Virginia, before launching a private practice.
Her experience spans the range of employment and family-based immigration petitions, including PERM labor certifications and H-1B visas, fiancé petitions, consular processing, one-step adjustment of status and naturalization. She has also successfully represented clients in affirmative and defensive asylum proceedings before the Immigration Service and the Immigration Court, as well as petitions under the Violence Against Women Act for immigrant survivors of domestic violence.
In 2008 she spent three months volunteering in Ecuador assisting Colombian refugees in their Refugee Status Determination process before the Ecuadorian government. She has also worked for non-profit organizations in Cambodia and Guatemala and has lived in Germany, the United Kingdom, and France.
Ms. Eichler received her undergraduate degree in International Relations and Geography, with a minor in French, from Boston University on an ROTC scholarship. She was commissioned as an officer in the US Army. She earned her law degree at the William and Mary School of Law in Williamsburg, Virginia followed by a Master of Laws in International Human Rights from Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London as the Draper's Scholar. She speaks Spanish, German, and passable French.
