Erin Joanne Smith

Erin represented me in a petit larceny case in 2016. I was facing other charges and wound up spending several years in state prison. 6.5 years later I find out Arlington county has a detainer on me to serve some time on this larceny case. There was some confusion with the judge in district Court and ...she for whatever reason decided that a transgender person who just came off a 6.5 year bid, instead of just serving 10 days and being done she assigns it as weekends!!! I tried for weeks to call Erin smith to find out what could be done , as the court listed her as the attorney of record. I tried reaching out to the public defenders office and they wouldn't touch it because I had an attorney of record. Erin Smith refused to return phone calls and allowed a transgender person to be put through the emotional trauma of entering jail and being strip searched by "opposite gender" officer 5 times. Erin is not helpful after the fact and is apparently and sadly not an advocate for the LGBT community. If I were you I would pass her by and use someone else.

Ms. Erin Smith was my attorney who represented me in the City of Alexandria General District Court on a traffic issue. Very convenient and efficient working with her firm. Calls and emails were returned promptly. All my transactions were done through phone, texts, and email. I did not need a face to ...face meeting, and thought I was very well represented. My traffic issue was completely dismissed by the court. I gave serious consideration to just sending in a payment and thereby admitting guilt to my traffic summons. Ms. Smith is well versed in the court procedures, brief me on my options on how to proceed, listened to my concerns, offed a proposed course of action, and advocated this position that resulted in the dismissal of my case. I am very glad I make my initial call to her firm.

Wow. I waited to the last day to take actions with my speeding ticket! A little panic I had a list of lawyers to call- Erin was my first call and she answered her own business line! I was shocked and explain my embarrassment Erin was so kind and understanding. She made me feel so comfortable. Erin... is warm and she was very welcoming. She insured me that everything was going to be OK and that she was available to appear in court for me on December 2 and she was going to take care of everything. Erin's fees are very reasonable she also offers a few options and how to pay. I was so excited to find such a wonderful attorney that I paid her fees in full immediately. Since procrastination is my middle name I waited until the last day to pay my ticket and again panicked and had to contact her to ask for my case for my docket number and again she came through on a holiday mind you January 1 she is amazing and awesome. Erin a keeper and I can't wait to retain her as my attorney. I can guarantee I will not meet Erin for another speeding ticket but look forward to having a long-lasting professional relationship

I live in Florida and received a Reckless Driving ticket in Fairfax VA for being 21 mph over the speed limit. When I realized it is considered a misdemeanor offense I searched the web for a lawyer. Erin Smith is an excellent attorney! I contacted her back in late September to inquire about the possibility of a divorce that I really needed to be finalized by December.
