Louis nearly ruined my life. I had to fire Louis because he never filed a motion for discovery in my case. Had he done this, he would have realized that Fairfax County had NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCE against me. 19 years old and facing serious drug charges, Louis charged me $10,000 and proceeded to do ...little or no work on my case. A few years before my case, this law was passed because Rachel Hoffman was murdered while acting as a police informant in exchange for her own freedom. On many occasion Louis said things like: “I’ve had clients turn on cousins, on their own brothers and mothers and fathers (…), it’s very normal and common”, in an attempt to normalize betrayal. I had a strong feeling that this is the way he has figured to “win” cases like this, so I fired Louis. Although I was young and and ignorant, I knew he wasn’t doing what I needed and wanted him to do for my case to have a favorable outcome. The next attorney I had was shocked when they found Louis had never filed for a discovery motion. They got my case thrown out 30 minutes into one hearing. Louis had me travel to and from my University in New York City numerous times for cases that always got continued, because I would not cooperate in a police investigation.
