Tara L. Umbrino

Tara L. Umbrino is the founding member of Valor Injury Law, where she represents individuals and families in personal injury and civil litigation matters throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. An experienced trial attorney, Tara has handled both jury and bench trials and has spent her career advocating for people whose lives have been disrupted by serious injuries. Her practice includes car, truck, motorcycle, pedestrian, and bicycle accidents, wrongful death, medical malpractice, premises liability, dog bites, and other negligence claims. She also has a particular interest in cases involving injuries that disproportionately affect women and children, including daycare injuries, food allergy incidents, sexual misconduct, salon injuries, and medi-spa injuries. Tara approaches each case with the goal of giving clients clear guidance, personal attention, and strong advocacy while pursuing compensation for the full impact of their injuries.

Before founding Valor Injury Law, Tara led and developed personal injury practices at prominent firms, including serving as a lead litigator for Virginia motor vehicle accident cases. She also serves as a Guardian ad Litem for children and disabled adults in personal injury matters, helping ensure that settlements fairly account for their needs and injuries. Tara is an adjunct professor at the George Washington University Law School and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, and she regularly presents continuing legal education programs for attorneys and paralegals. She is active in organizations including the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, Maryland Association for Justice, American Association for Justice, Virginia Women Attorneys Association, and Prince William County Bar Association. Tara is fluent in Spanish and is licensed to practice in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
