When it became clear to me that my custody & child support situation was not going to come to a resolution without the courts getting involved, I was referred to Nichols Zauzig by a family friend who had previously had a wonderful experience with this firm while being represented by Paul Nichols. Paul Nichols just represented me in a difficult child support case with my ex-wife that required patience, knowledge of our county laws and knowledge of my case. Paul Nichols negotiated a stoppage of child support based on a change in living arrangements of the child. This is the third time in many ...years, that Mr Nichols has represented me with divorce issues that needed judge's signature court attention. His 35+ years of practicing law has allowed him to be a well respected lawyer in the area, with the ability to get things done through established relationships. His negotiation methods are fair and he looks out for his clients best interest always, first and foremost. His communication of case progress is never in question. I would not look for any other lawyers to represent me other than Paul Nichols.

Paul Nichols took my case after 3 attorneys walked off my case due to my ex husband's behavior and mental illness. Each attorney that withdrew charged me hefty fees for nothing and each subsequent attorney charged me to re-draft and file the same work. The lawyer before just Paul failed to enter the... Pendente Lite which the entire case was predicated on. All the agreements subsequent to the Pendente Lite were not valid. The lawyer that made the error went to court to remove himself from my case leaving me with a disaster and over $60,000 in lawyer fees. After this, my ex husband cleaned out all the retirement accounts and refused to uphold any of the previous agreements. Paul explained to me my case was equivalent to a law exam in law school. He couldn't predict how it would turn out because there were so many anomalies but he would do his very best. Even though this was a stressful time for me, Paul was able to interject humor and maintain a level of professionalism that put me at ease. Paul hires competent people within his office as well. Dana, his para-legal is excellent. Paul got most of the retirement money my ex stole from the accounts returned to me. He also got me a pretty good settlement given the situation. Considering my ex's behavior and mental condition, Paul also went an extra step to protect me and requested my payments for support through Child Support Enforcement to protect me from having to hire another attorney in the future. After 3 attorneys, I found Paul who is honest, very competent and willing to fight for you within reason in court. I highly recommend Paul.
