Kathleen Walsh was born in Elizabeth New Jersey. She attended George Washington University in Washington, DC, where she received a Bachelor Degree in Political Science in 1976. After working as a legal journalist at Commerce Clearing House covering consumer product safety issues she went on to receive her Juris Doctor degree from The Columbus School of Law at Catholic University in 1986.
Ms. Walsh was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1986 and the New Jersey Bar in 1989. She is also admitted to the U.S District Court and to the U.S Supreme Court.
From 1986 through 2000 Ms. Walsh was associated with Ashcraft & Gerel concentrating her practice in workers’ compensation and personal injury. In March of 2000 Ms. Walsh opened her own firm. In addition to her practice of workers’ compensation and personal injury Ms. Walsh now also handles social security disability cases.
Ms. Walsh has served in the past as an editorial editor for the Virginia Trial Lawyers Journal and on the Virginia Trial Lawyers Workers’ Compensation legislative committee. In addition to her membership in the Virginia and New Jersey bar she is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and the National Organization of Social Security Representatives. In addition to her professional activities she is also a summer swim coach and active as a reader in her Church.
