Poor Divorce Representation

My divorce was finalized May of 2014. Ms. Devlin was unprepared in one of our court appearances; she incorrectly filed a lis pendens, for which the judge reprimanded her harshly; I did a lot of research work in her office; Ms. Devlin joked that we were only up against a "collections attorney"; she di...dn't even fight for me to keep my dog that I owned before the marriage! I came out of divorce with little more than $20,000, the amount she said I owed for her billing; Ms. Devlin laughed that my ex-husband had to pay $100,000 for services to his "collections attorney". Ms. Devlin didn't fight for my hybrid portion of the $900,000 home; she didn't fight for anything for me, but let the "collections attorney" over take the whole divorce trial. Ms. Devlin can't even provide me a copy of the Final Divorce Decree. I was mentally broken and broke by the time the Divorce Trial was finished; I had to sell my jewelry when I had to vacate my husband's house just to have food and money in my purse. I worked hard to repay a friend who paid my retainer to Ms. Devlin, as my ex-husband cleaned out our bank accounts and left me penniless before the divorce, even conning me out of my 401K savings. Ms. Devlin has been paid in full by receiving all my tax refunds from 2013 and a final balance check. On February 26, 2015, I sent an email requesting a Fee Refund of $10,000 from Ms. Devlin, concluding her fees were arbitrary and capricious, and her results were essentially non-existent on my behalf. Ms. Devlin says I still owe her more money, yet she refuses to issue me an invoice after my numerous requests. Who stops lawyers like her from doing further damage to those of us who are already going through traumatic divorces? I was already broken and broke, however I provided her with every financial document I had to show my monetary input into the marriage. She certainly did not put 80 hours into working on my case; especially if I am sitting at her desk and in her office doing the work!!

Extremely Poor Divorce Representation

Ms. Brooke-Devlin, I hired her and paid her in full to handle a very easy divorce. She gave me a third of the alimony and child support that I was entitled to. Told me that was the maximum allowed, which was a total lie! She made my alimony non-modifiable without even telling me! I had never ev...en heard of that term before! Before, I went to court to finalize I brought it up to her that my alimony and child support were too low and she said, “It is too late to change them”. Another lie! I live totally disabled from thirty year’s of severe domestic violence. I live in severe poverty now, thanks to her! While my ex is making $250,000.00 a year. She needs to be disbarred!

Fierce and Fair

Ms. Devlin was highly recommended by a good friend of mine for my divorce. She is kind and thorough when guiding you through the process, but is absolutely ferocious in the court room and when dealing with opposing counsel. This is exactly what I needed as my ex husband can be both devious and downri...ght mean. Ms. Devlin was more than up to the task but is fair about it. She also amazingly, for a divorce attorney, believes in marriage and has a wonderful one herself. She recommended that our family have counseling put in our order which was invaluable. Because of her I ended up with child support I was not even expecting to get and our family has made it through to the other side where my ex and I are co-parenting well. I cannot recommend her enough. Her fees are fair and she is worth every penny trust me. My ex cannot stand her but recommends her to his friends and that tells you everything you need to know.

An Exceptionally Capable and Competent Attorney.

In recent days, I required legal assistance in transferring property to a minor. I consulted with Ms. Morgan Brooke-Devlin. She rapidly took action to effect the transfer. She impressed me as well-informed and experienced. She asked questions to ensure that she understood my situation. Based on my ex...perience, I would consult her again and recommend her to others, without hesitation.

Exceptional Attorney

Morgan Brooke-Devlin came with the highest of recommendations. Having worked in the law field for over 25 years, you know when it's time to hire your own personal attorney. Ms. Brooke-Devlin was recommended by several Senior Partners at 2 different firms after asking around the country for a VA cus...tody attorney. Ms. Brooke-Devlin won full custody of my new husband's daughters. Her attention to detail and the facts were critical in our case. Her knowledge and experience as a trial attorney were outstanding. She is brilliant at cross-examination. Morgan helped keep us calm, confident, and helped to remove the emotion out of a very long and hard fought custody case. I strongly recommend Morgan Brooke-Devlin, as she is an exceptional attorney.
