Jamie practices Virginia workers’ compensation exclusively. She is originally from Buffalo, NY. While in Buffalo she was a card-carrying member of a labor union, as was her father. She was the first person in her family to attend college, receiving her bachelor’s degree in biology from Canisius College in Buffalo. She received her master’s degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo before moving to Richmond to attend law school at the University of Richmond, where she earned her J.D. Jamie has represented injured workers in Virginia workers’ compensation cases for over 15 years. She represents injured workers through all phases of their cases, and has argued numerous cases before the Court of Appeals of Virginia.
She has also given educational presentations to attorneys at workers’ compensation conferences and to labor union members and leaders. She is an active member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (VTLA); she chaired its annual Advanced Workers’ Compensation Retreat this year and is in line to serve as chair of the workers’ compensation section. She is also an active member of the Workers’ Injury Law and Advocacy Group (WILG), where she is on the Board of Directors and is a member of the Diversity and Membership Committees. Additionally, she is a member of the Virginia Workers’ Compensation American Inn of Court, the Metro Richmond Women’s Bar Association, Phi Alpha Delta, and the Desmond Law Society. Jamie was selected to the 2022 Virginia Super Lawyers list and was named to Super Lawyers’ Rising Star list every year from 2014 through 2017 and was also recognized by Best Lawyers for 2020, 2021, and 2022. Additionally, she has been named a Top Injured Workers’ Attorney by WILG.
Outside the courtroom, Jamie enjoys hiking, traveling, craft beer, listening to true crime podcasts, and rooting for the Buffalo Bills
