Time to time one gets hit with something so unexpected that you get disoriented in life. Well that happened with me a month ago when after waiting over a decade for my GC (EB2, PD May 1 2009), my 485 was denied (due to USCIS Clerical error in not processing my submitted medicals I 693 correctly) and... I lost my status immediately putting tremendous amount of peril not only for me but also for my family. My employment was in peril, my daughter who is in B-school was in peril, my wife job was in peril, we were facing a dire situatino to leave the country in short order (to where exactly not sure.. ). He helped navigate and succcesfully get her in Day 1-10: Constant counselling on what I should do.. reach out to Congressman, senator, ombudsman, prepare a ground swell, thinking through options and putting together the motion to reconsider Day 10: Filed motion to reconsider (I-290B)done with all paper work and supporting evidence Day 15: Got receipt that our motion was recvd Day 16: Applied for H1 extension to get me back in status Day 17: Started planning for what is next steps if H1 does not go through.. Table top thinking exercise on O1 possibility or how to reapply I485 given the constraints we have, what i need to do for my daughter who is school - maybe F1. Day 20: Recvd USCIS notificaton that our motion was approved Day 21: Our I485 Approved!! Day 30: All our GCs in hand!! BOOM :-) Day 32: Withdraw our H1 application!
