Ms. Choe is both a wonderful Attorney and Person! I true life saver!

"There now appeared on the ravaged scene an Angel of Deliverance..." This was a quote by Sir Winston Churchill from his book "History of the English-Speaking Peoples". Churchill was referring to Joan of Arc, but this line describes perfectly how I felt the day Linda took on my very contested custod...y case and divorce. All custody cases are difficult and painful I know, but I would dare say mine had it all. I am a government employee with a security clearance who's wife was a foreign national until just before our separation when she got her citizenship. After that, her family came to stay for the summer but never left some remained here illegally. When I refused to support them for fear of losing my job, my wife demanded a divorce and full custody of our child or she and her family would not leave our home - essentially blackmailing me to force me to choose between my job and my child. Shortly after is when Linda appeared on the ravaged scene. For almost the next year, my wife and her family remained in my home while we were separated and through the final custody decision. As time progressed, my wife and her family accused me of everything they could think of: a neglectful father who didn't care about his son, an alcoholic, emotionally and then physically abusive to her, etc. When that did not dissuade me, she then began claiming that I had abused my kids and later on even made the claim my older child from a previous relationship would hit his younger brother (who was the subject of our custody battle). She and her family were attempting to alienate my child from me in my own home, and there was nothing I could do as her name was still on the residence. My ex even invoked her Fifth Amendment Rights three times during the case! What divorce lawyer anticipates dealing with Constitutional Law in a custody trial? Ms. Choe handled it perfectly! Needless to say it was a stressful and miserable year. By the time we got to court, my ex's allegations had grown so outrageous she was now seeking full legal and physical custody and claimed I shouldn't even have overnight visits with my child. During it all, Ms. Choe was absolutely amazing! I could truly see and hear the care and concern from her when discussing my situation. She treated my case as if it were her own, and fought every step of the way with as much passion as you would expect if she were fighting for her own child! From retainer to ruling, Linda was my lawyer, my ally, my coach, my defender, my rock and my friend. She would call just to check on my well being and work late into the weekends to ensure we were ready for court - all the while making countless attempts to arrive at a reasonable settlement with the other side. Unfortunately, there was no reason to be had. Linda fought every step of the way to defend me, and at times it truly felt like my entire life was on trial. It was a nightmare I wouldn't wish upon anyone. Despite my at times being an emotional wreck, Linda was steady, calm, always had a plan, was always there for me, and smart as they come! From depositions to court to discovery, Linda ran circles around the opposing council! Our three day case ended with a continuation and finally, when we returned to receive the Judge's ruling a month after the trial, we prevailed! I received the fair and just ruling I had been asking for all along. Joint legal and physical custody with my son, 50/50 visitation, and my request to have him finally enrolled in preschool. Linda had done it! She saw me through what was undeniably the worst period of my life. She did it with grace and the utmost professionalism, and despite everything the other side was throwing at us she never dropped a ball or missed a beat. If it wasn't for Linda, my life would have been forever changed for the worse and I may have never gotten to see my son. I will never forget what she has done for me and my boys, and she will always be my Angel of Deliverance!

Excellent family law attorney

Linda is an extremely qualified attorney who skillfully navigated me through a high conflict and stressful divorce. I felt like I was in very capable hands when fighting for the custody of my children. I would recommend Linda unreservedly to friends and family, and would use her again myself if the... need arises.

Senior Manager

I was going through a difficult and complicated divorce and heard about Linda’s firm via friends but didn’t know her personally. Interviewed several firms/lawyers and she was, by far, the most empathetic but also helpful and logical about the initial assessment. In a job dealing with basically the mo...st difficult part in one’s life, she was always available and also recommended other resources as needed. She was an advocate for me without being aggressive and utilized all that her firm had to offer, including real estate, taxes, and many other specific expertise in case of issues that arose. She was honest and upfront from the beginning on costs and anything else related. Dealing with opposing council, in my case, not the easiest person to work with, she made sure to offer expert advice that was always within the law and what would protect me in the separation and divorce. To summarize, while I hope one never goes through this situation, you couldn’t find a better lawyer and person to shepherd you through the process.

Excellent Family Attorney

Linda was my co-counsel for my child custody case and sole counsel for my child support case. I truly believe that it was her hard work and dedication to my case that ultimately led to a ruling in my favor for both custody and reasonable child support. Linda was very passionate about doing what was... right for the well being of my children who are 7 and 11. Her tenacious research skills were impressive and consistently produced evidence and legal case studies in support of my case. Communication is paramount with these cases and I appreciated Linda's responsiveness when I had concerns or questions. I was always prepared throughout the entire court proceeding because of Linda's commitment to trial prep. True professional. This was the most difficult time in my life and Linda was always there to talk me through the worst. I consider her family for what she did for my kids and I would recommend her to my closest friends and family for legal advice anytime. If you are reading this review, don't look any further and recommend giving her a call. You will not be disappointed.

Is your family counting on YOU to take legal steps to find peace in everyone's life? Read this story about my time with Linda!

If you're here reading this story, chances are you're trying to find someone to trust with YOUR family in a time of terrifically awful stress. Let's face it, family matters are at the core of a parent's focus, and when you need legal representation, like I did, for a damn tough family situation, I go...t an unbelievable gift in Linda. I have a very young Son, and I am divorced from his mother, and I had to move out of state to take a job. I have had to fight night and day with my ex for time with my Son, to support him, to do anything with or for Him. Its been hell, straight up. I knew going to court would bring resolution to my problems with my ex for my Son, but like everything else, even getting to court was going to be a fight, I dug in and waited for the battle to begin. Maybe I'm like you, I live well but I don't have a mint to draw on for extraneous items, and at first, hiring a lawyer just didn't seem cost effective. I knew everything would go to trial eventually, so I thought I'd be smart and wait. That was a mistake. When I walked into court my first time, I went without representation, like a total rookie. Man did I regret that. Never, never, never let that happen. Your kids are counting on you, Dad or Mom, to step up and find the way through any situation, especially something that looms as large as custody, visitation, and child support. After getting the floor waxed with my necktie on my first "status" hearing, I made it my mission to talk to every professional I could associated with the court. My only question was this "Who can you recommend without reservation that will produce results?". Every person without exception pointed to Bean Kinney and Korman as being the premier firm, so I made the move and hired Linda. Being so obviously green walking into my case, I had already learned the hard way what not to do, but I can't say I wasn't surprised at the consensus view of folks that I asked about where to go for legal representation. I took it upon myself to put this firm to the test, to be completely open and honest about what I was dealing with for my family, and what I expected at the end of our business together. I have zero problem admitting when I need help or am out of my depth, because I know in my field I might be an "expert", but with this, I drank humble tea and LISTENED to what the attorneys had to say. About this time I started working with Linda, and right off the bat, I found her to be above all professional, but also punctual to a fault (huge plus for me, I'm on time, and I demand that of people I pay my hard earned money to), patient with me, courteous to my ex and her lawyers, diligent in finding the facts, and a rocket scientist at coming up with compromise and conditions to create a damn fine set of agreements between me and my ex spouse. Linda worked with me all around the clock, at times I was shocked at how on the ball she was just knocking out item after item, finding consensus where there seemingly was none, and putting it all in documentation that clearly showed me she was getting me and my Son EXACTLY what was fair and equitable to everyone involved, not just me. Linda was crucial to keeping things fair and responsive, even with the difficult person I was married to trying to constantly derail progress. Linda is by no means large in stature, but she is a large caliber badass in a legal situation. I say this without taking away anything from her total professional demeanor or her quiet way personally, but I can say without hesitation that I can pick out the ones to take seriously in life, and I would not want to be across the table from Linda. In the end, we came to an agreement for my Son that is 100% fair and we can LIVE IN PEACE with. I am honored to lay the credit squarely at Linda's feet.

"When I think of Linda Choe, the words service, caring, and professional immediately spring to mind. I met Linda in 2010 when we were both interns at the Arlington County Office of the Public Defender. Her work there as a student and later for years at Legal Services of Northern Virginia, where she defended the rights of our most vulnerable citizens, demonstrates her commitment to serving others. It also demonstrates how Linda genuinely cares about people, and is primarily interested in helping others. It is no surprise to me that Linda has focused exclusively on family law, finding a way to overcome the emotional and legal issues families face when going through difficult transitions. Her deft legal abilities combined with her genuine concern for people makes her a tremendous asset to the legal community and to her clients. I am proud to have her in the Northern Virginia legal community and prouder still to call her colleague and friend."
