Mr. Addie-Carter graduated from the American University Washington College of Law in 2016. While in law school, he served as a competition volunteer judge for the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project and the Editor-in-Chief for the Criminal Law Practitioner publication. Additionally, he served internships with the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office; the Hon. John M. He is a 2016 fellowship recipient of the College’s JD Distinguished Fellowship Program.
Mr. Addie-Carter was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 2016. He has served as a Legal Fellow with the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office; an Assistant State’s Attorney for Frederick County, Maryland; and as the Judicial Law Clerk for the District Court of Maryland, District Eleven (Frederick & Washington Counties).
Since moving to Frederick, Mr. Addie-Carter has become active with the Bar Association of Frederick County, Maryland, where he enjoys serving as an attorney judge for the MYLaw High School Mock Trial Competition. He additionally served on the Church Council for Grace United Church of Christ, where he directed the Church’s outreach work and volunteer projects and on the Community Partnership Committee of The Frederick Center, Frederick County's local LGBTQ+ resource, support, and information center. He currently lives in Frederick with his husband and their two cats.
