Prior to establishing the firm as an immigration attorney, Lucelia R. Justiniano worked at several immigration law firms assisting clients in removal defense cases and family-based applications before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Ms. Justiniano interned at the Executive Office of Immigration Review in Baltimore, Maryland drafting decisions for three of the immigration judges. Ms. Justiniano also interned at the Board of Immigration Appeals in Falls Church, Virginia where she worked alongside Board Attorney Advisors in drafting Board decisions.
Ms. Justiniano also interned at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender where she worked exclusively with the Padilla attorney advising clients of the immigration consequences of criminal pleas, drafting informational pamphlets on common crim-imm issues, and assisting in crim-imm trainings.
Ms. Justiniano is exceptionally dedicated to giving back to the community and she provided over 800 hours of pro bono legal services during her law school career by volunteering at nonprofit organizations, including Kids In Need of Defense (KIND), the Esperanza Center of Catholic Charities of Baltimore, and Casa de Maryland. She earned a Pro Bono Service Award from University of Baltimore School of Law for her efforts. Today, she continues to volunteer at these organizations.
While in law school, Ms. Justiniano worked as a Teaching Assistant for Legal Analysis and Writing courses where she taught first year law students and international students in the LLM program. As a board member of the Immigration Law Association and the Latin American Law Students Association, Ms. Justiniano organized events such as Know Your Rights presentation and a Crim-Imm Symposium.
Ms. Justiniano is admitted to practice in Maryland and is a native Spanish speaker. She earned her B.A. in Philosophy and Law and Society from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland and is a graduate of Damascus High School.
