Excellent Separation agreement!

Lisa was very helpful in consulting with me to let me know what needed to be done in terms of my separation agreement and divorce. She walked me through step by step on how to ask for alimony (and how to figure out what to ask for), what papers needed to be filed, and how the process works. She off...ered to do some things but saved me money by allowing/helping me do what she felt I was able to do. Very cost efficient and fair.

An absolute Superhero!

Lisa swooped in on my case and turned 3 years of heartache and headache into a WIN! My never-ending custody battle has finally ended and Lisa’s expertise was the secret sauce that got my case across the finish line. She heard me out, took action when necessary, never left me questioning where things ...stood. Having had several attorneys throughout a 10 YEAR DIVORCE, Lisa is the only one that took the time to understand my case, and actually take action to resolve it instead of delay tactics to draw things out and bill more hours. Her services were excellent, and cost was reasonable. She listened to me, insisted I make decisions which she either supported, or advised alternatives and why they might work better. She also always responded quickly and kindly. I am so grateful for her assistance which has given me back my life, literally! Thank you, Lisa, you are a Superhero!

She helped me win my divorce case from my abuser and protect my children

I was involved in a contentious divorce case from an abusive spouse. He abused my children and myself during the marriage. He also engaged in post separation financial, emotional, and physical abuse. We were forced to flee the home to separate and later leave the state because of his behavior. As a... person like him does, he then used the courts to try to financially abuse me and leveraged the threat of a custody challenge to get me to take a lesser settlement. After 2 years of separation, his attorney argued we had not met the time length grounds for a divorce and that we were not abused. He tried twice to get the absolute divorce stopped. Even with documented proof of abuse; they claimed that was not abuse at all. At the beginning of my case I had an great DV Divorce Attorney help me through the custody process and was able to negotiate full custody (in exchange for about 1/3 of the child support he owed). When it came time for the divorce trial I had exhausted all money and options for loans. That attorney sent me to Lisa. List helped me draft my trial responses, my trial prep, and strategy. I drove 500 miles to attend this trial and was terrified that the judge would not grant the absolute divorce. Long story short, my spouse wanted to keep all marital property and to leave me with approximately 1/3 of what I was legally entitled to. He even used filing a modification to get sole custody ( and to block my access) to try to manipulate me into accepting pennies on the dollar. This was a 6 figure settlement that I was entitled to and he wanted to keep everything earned during the marriage. With Lisa as my trial counselor, my trial cheerleader, and my trial coach, I can say not only did I come out better than I expected but I can also say the process of representing myself in court helped me to heal mentally. There is something very cathartic about facing your abuser in court and winning. She helped me get evidence of horrendous abuse admitted at trial. The judge read into the record her acceptance that I had grounds for divorce on constructive desertion, cruelty of treatment... and we were separated 2 years before the trial. All the words of the judge were the first time we felt vindicated in the court. This was very important to us because the police had declined to help even when the children called afraid for their lives and when I had been threatened with a gun - so the Judge's words were very poignant. The trial results and record will also help any future custody claims fall based on the trial transcripts and the court opinion. So we are better protected in the future. I can't say enough - Lisa will help you get ready to fight the fight of your life. Now, you will have to do the work and will need to put in the time, but that can be healing. You can do this and Lisa will help you all the way!
