Steady, level headed & informed

Alan has represented me in my divorce for the past three years. He has been very steady and has advised me on various issues. I felt comfortable sharing my fears and concerns and all of them were answered. The best thing about Alan is that he is not pretentious. His background in criminal law helps w...hen things get sticky. He truly believes in making things work through mediation before going to trial or being pushy. But he doesn't back down when it does. I would absolutely recommend him. Thank you

ALl I could ask for

Alan has been my family law attorney for about 7 years now and I have no plans to switch. He handled my divorce ,custody and frivolous domestic violence issues. I believe that it is the client (myself) who really drives the case. The attorney is there to give you the legal advice, strategy and framew...ork to increase your chances of success. What I like about him is the feeling that he believed that my actions, philosophy and intents were righteous. I have the feeling that I have someone truly taking my side and not simply acting "present" in the courtroom. He will tell you straight up if your complaint /defense doesn't stand a chance, then let you decide to pursue. He tends to stay on top of filings and deadlines and remembers minute details about your case despite his workload. Finally, the rates were reasonable and he did not hit me with one of these gigantic retainers. That is really all I ask of the person representing me.

very good trial lawyer

Mr winik's strength is his litigation experience in court. He is excellent in court presenting and setting up the case. Because of his criminal background experience, Mr winik can read people and know how to strategize the case.

too careless, he didn't care at all after I rebuffed him

I was looking for an attorney because I was gettig a divorce. Alan rarley called and it seems I had to prod him to get letters sent. In the end he got me nothing more than what my husband had already agreed to. It was like he didn't care. Worse than that, when we were alone in his office, he was ...telling me about his sex life and it was very inappropriate. I believe because I rebuffed him, and told him about my boyfriend, he decided he wasn't going to do anything for me. Alan let me lose my health insurance, all he had to do was request it be put in the divore decree. No big deal, right? It's now costing me $400.00 a month. He also let my husband spend or do something with $58,000. I was entitled to half and when I asked about that money Alan said he couldn't do anything because the money was no longer in the account. Had he frozen that account until the divorece I would have gotten almost $30,000. He really was worthless and then I had to pay him.
