This review is from a person who hired this attorney.

If you are looking for an attorney with sympathy, empathy, concern regarding your situation, this lawyer is not the one.

This Attorney was the worst attorney. I should have walked away when I got the first sign that he was pushing me off when I got to his office and he was rushing out the door at my appointment time. The communication was horrible. Every time I tried to reach out to him to talk, he pushed me off on h...is associates. He assured me I would get money back once the judge released him from my case due to differences between us and instead I received another bill.

My experience with Attorney Cochran

As a business owner, I highly value reviews and feedback, recognizing them as essential tools to enhance products or services, or in some cases, maintain current exceptional standards. Recently, I engaged Attorney Michael Cochran for a Child Support case, and unfortunately, my experience was less tha...n satisfactory. I felt that Michael did not exercise due diligence, and there was an unsettling lack of clarity regarding the details and plan of action for my case. After leaving a review expressing my concerns, he responded with a text, suggesting that I find a new attorney. While this made sense, as I had no intention of continuing with his services, the manner in which he handled the situation was unprofessional. To provide more context, I had an upcoming custody case related to the Child Support matter. I was already hesitant to use Michael's services due to dissatisfaction with how he managed the Child Support case. For instance, he made arguments more suited for a custody case rather than a Child Support case, leaving me confused about his approach, as we never discussed anything beyond the payment balance. Michael's response to my review was a text message that read: “Did you see the email? I saw the negative review you posted on Google regarding the child support case. I suggest you find another attorney to represent you in the custody case and have them file a substitution of counsel. I will hold until then. Thanks.” Rather than addressing my concerns through open dialogue, he chose to send a cancellation text. In my opinion, lawyers are paid too much to allow interpersonal issues and lack of communication to hinder their professional relationships. When fighting for your child, the last thing you need is an attorney who falls short in these areas. In the past, I used Erica Slater, and I wish I could turn to her now, but unfortunately, she no longer practices family law. I hope my experience serves as a cautionary tale for others seeking legal representation in family matters.

One challenge lawyers must confront in family law cases is that not all parents put the best interest of their children first and accordingly do not want to pay child support. In Maryland, parents are required to provide financial support for their minor children based on guidelines have been set out by the legislature to which judge's generally defer to to determine appropriate monthly amounts. A child support case is about the numbers derived through this calculation along with the percentage of overnights that the parent is with the child. Sometimes it's just math.

Outstanding

I hired Michael to represent my in my absolute divorce case. Michael was very knowledgeable and understanding concerning my case. He did a magnificent job representing me and the costs were very reasonable. I highly recommend Michael Cochran Law Offices for legal counsel and representation.

Michael Cochran

Mr. Cochran was a pleasure to work with. He did an excellent job in communicating what would be expected during the hearing, and possible outcomes. Prior to the actual hearing much attention was given to researching the history of the case, as well as preparing of the defendant and witnesses. In the ...end the outcome was much better than expected. I would not hesitate to use him in the future if the need arises, or to recommend him.

Family Attorney

Our family hired Michael to represent a family member. Besides being able to negotiate the right deal with the state's attorney, Michael kept us informed--explaining the process and taking some of the mystery and anxiety away--and was very committed to the good outcome. He is a trusted advisor.
