Disapointing

I sought help with my custody case through Mr. Hannon, I felt as if I did 90% of the leg work. I felt when it came to my custody he case he defiantly didn't fight for me or my children, he more of settled with what the other party's lawyer wanted. I had a very solid case of child neglect and abuse a...nd was seeking to have sole custody, I wound up with physical primary due to his settling. I felt as if he didn't fight for me.

While I understand this person's frustration, they made a decision to settle the matter, and before a magistrate who said she would have likely ruled the same way the parties agreed to resolve the case. I am unclear what "90% of the leg work" means, as this was originally a highly contested custody dispute that was ultimately resolved through settlement because the magistrate would likely not have ordered sole custody. Again, the parents reached settlement, and in affirmation, the magistrate stated she would have likely ruled the same way they agreed. I suspect new developments between the parents have made this person regret their decision back when the case was before the court, but that doesn't change the fact that this person made a decision to settle, very likely because they would not have gotten the result they wanted at a contested hearing.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
