Thomas Joseph Maronick

I should have done more homework before deciding on these folks. It turns out they are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. I contracted this law firm to represent my son in what turned out to be a very straightforward and simple case. One of Mr. Maronick's staff attorneys appeared at the pr...eliminary hearing and did an adequate job. My son pleaded guilty, and the case was decided and closed at the preliminary hearing. I made the mistake of signing a flat fee agreement for $5000. I asked for an itemized accounting of the billable hours spent on the case, but Mr. Maronick refused to provide one. I expected that the firm would be fair and honest and reduce the amount owed to around $2500 but they refused and charged me the full $5000 for what amounted to about 4 hours of time by my estimate including travel time. I cannot help but feel that Mr. Maronick took advantage of me because of my naivete. I think what he did was legal but unscrupulous.
