Mark Timothy Jensen

Mr. Jensen is the grandson of Danish immigrant farmers and the sonof a small business man. He grew up in Minnesota working in hisfather’s retail store and made his way through college (Hamline University B.A., Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, 1980) and law school (State University of New York at Buffalo J.D., 1985; visiting student for three semesters at University of Maryland School of Law)supporting himself with a wide variety of service and unskilled laborjobs. Fours years into his legal career, Mr. Jensen joined the LawOffices of Robert R. Bowie, Jr. which in two years became Bowie &Jensen, LLC. Since 1992, Mr. Jensen has worked with Robert R. Bowie,Jr. and their colleagues to build Bowie & Jensen, LLC. Hisbackground and experience in small business allows Mr. Jensen to bringa unique perspective to the representation of small businesses, privatecompanies, entrepreneurs and professionals.

Mr. Jensen chairsthe firm’s transactional department and focuses his practice on therepresentation of small businesses, privately held companies of allsizes, entrepreneurs and professionals, drawing on his personalexperience and professional training to identify goals and developstrategies and tactics to achieve them.

Mr. Jensen is committed to public service and currently serves as Chairman of the Board at Union Memorial Hospital, a member of the MedStar Health System,one of the nation’s leading heart and orthopedic hospitals and anon-profit institution providing quality care to the surroundingcommunity. Mr. Jensen also chairs the UMH Strategic Planning Committee,serves on the Professional Practice and Quality Oversight Committee(which he previously chaired), Risk Management Committee, and HospitalLeadership Committee and is an invited guest at the Medical ExecutiveCommittee meetings. He serves on the MedStar Strategic PlanningCommittee and the MedStar Investment Committee as well as the UnionMemorial Foundation Board and the Maryland Hospital Association Council on Clinical and Quality Issues Committee. For the past 13 years, through his work with Maryland State Bar Association Lawyer Assistant Program, Mr. Jensen has worked helping alcoholic and drug addicted lawyers.

In1996, Mr. Jensen founded the Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association ofGreater Baltimore, Inc. and over the years has done pro bono work forand served on the boards of the Intrepid Foundation, Inc., the BatesVincent Foundation, Inc., SONKISSED, Inc., and various other churchboards, committees and community service organizations. His pastservice also includes serving on the board of directors and beingPresident of the Towson Chamber of Commerce, and Chairing the TowsonTowne Spring Festival, one of the largest street festivals on the east coast.

Mr.Jensen enjoys martial arts and has earned a first degree black belt inTae Kwon Do recognized by the Kukkiwon while competing successfully ona national level. An avid motorcyclist since his youth, he continues topursue many varieties of on and off road riding, in addition to beingan accomplished alpine skier, runner, and a graduate of the PenguinSchool of Motorcycle Racing and the Skip Barber School of HighPerformance Driving.

Mr. Jensen makes his home in Baltimore City with his wife and young son.
