Mairi Patricia Maguire

I have been defending complex medical malpractice and personal injury claims in arbitration, trial and appellate proceedings for more than 16years. Representing physicians, nurses, hospitals and long term care facilities throughout Maryland and the District of Columbia, I am experienced in litigating health care claims involving both acute and long term care and in defending individual health care providers from a wide variety of disciplines and medical specialties. I have also represented health care providers in disciplinary actions before administrative agencies in Maryland.

In addition to my legal experience, I am also a registered nurse with significant health care experience as a clinical nurse in acute and critical care settings. I have been on the faculty of The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and continues to teach and give presentations and seminars on professional liability, quality assurance and risk management.

I am a 1981 graduate of the St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing and received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the Catholic University of America in 1983. I became a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the national honor society for nursing in graduated cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1992.
