Biography
Mr. Shaffer is a partner in Whiteford Taylor & Preston, LLP's Business Reorganization & Bankruptcy Section, with extensive experience in representing debtors, creditors, creditors' committees, trustees and plan administrators in all phases of bankruptcy cases and related matters, including complex business reorganizations and related complex civil litigation. During his career, Mr. Shaffer has worked with clients in various industries, including hospitality/entertainment, energy, retail, manufacturing, service, financial, real estate, railroad and convenience stores.
Mr. Shaffer is also co-chair of the firm's Hospitality Industry Group, lending his past professional and present legal experience to this focused industry group. In that regard, Mr. Shaffer has represented the largest, at the time, time share company in the world in its complex chapter 11 proecedings. Mr. Shaffer also has experience representing individual hotels, resorts and franchisors in workouts and bankruptcy related matters.
