Employment, Non Compete, and Contract Issue

Don is a fantastic lawyer, ethical, hardworking, and will provide a great service. I needed a lawyer for an employment issue that not only involved needing resolving but I was filed against eventually as well. Don worked on all issues in the case and kept me calm as this entire saga has been extrem...ely draining, emotional, and difficult, to say the least, especially for my family. Don, calmly handled the case assuring me the entire time that his laser focus and professional filings will be a strong strategy. Don does not play games, he follows the law and guides you along the way. He handled everything with the other lawyer, filings, and more while keeping me in the loop and explaining from his legal side. I interviewed quite a few lawyers as this case was/is very important for my family, and hired Don based on his strategy, demeanor, understanding, and ethical approach. I strongly recommend Don (and I worked closely with Alexus who is equally outstanding), and the rest of his firm. If you are looking for a smart, calm, ethical strategist for your employment needs then give Don a call for a consult. Great guy, and a great team.

don't use don quinn law firm in SP

Don't use Don Quinn law firm SP. I Consulted him. His law firm web page states takes flat rates. The lawyer agreed to a flat rate during the call. When I got the contract to sign it stated hourly rate that was never discussed or brought up. None the less, the lawyers conversation with more than on...e of us at the time heard the lawyer .....agree to a flat rate. The lawyer spoke to more than one of us on speaker phone. lawyer knew she was on speaker phone because she was engaging in a conversations with all of us. The lawyer denied the flat rate offer. Which states require consent before recording a phone call? Eleven (11) states require the consent of everybody involved in a conversation or phone call before the conversation can be recorded. Those states are: California, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and

That's unfortunate, and I wish you had contacted me for assistance or clarification since we never actually spoke (per your review). As it stands, this review (on my personal profile) is not an accurate representation of the services I personally provide to clients. As for recordings, our firm does not record anything without authorization. Our phone systems are set up to announce that a call is being recorded if the attorney and client agree to do so. As for flat fees, the firm does offer them, but it depends on the complexity of the case. We cannot determine how complex a case is or what to bill without conducting a Free consultation, after which attorneys evaluate the case and consider the best course of action. You mentioned that a contract was sent for your review after you received a Free consultation and the attorney spent time evaluating the case. At that time, if a potential client does not agree with the terms, they have the choice to decline to move forward, ask for clarification, or request a change for the attorney's consideration. Our firm is not going to be the right fit for everyone. But, for our clients, we are dedicated advocates and do our best to work with people. As for your particular case (which I have no knowledge of since you mentioned that we never spoke), I hope you were able to find an attorney to assist you.

Don’t recommend

If I could give zero stars I would. We found Mr.Quinn and decided to go with him based off of the reviews we have read, however I now see that all the good reviews are because the bad ones are deleted. Well…I will keep posting if this is deleted because people should be aware. My family went through ...a very difficult time last year and we trusted this Law firm to help us. Things started off great, but once finances came into play things changed. We made our initial deposit and we kept getting the run around and NO updates on our case. When the next payment came due THEN we received emails but no update on our case. Eventually, Mr.Quinn told us that he was taking a risk representing us and if we went somewhere else they probably wouldn’t even take the case. (Even though we had a second party as a witness and who even book him as well). Quinn did not defend my husband at all, he received a response from his demand letter and basically gave us the “oh well, they said….” And didn’t have a plan to defend us at all. And he kept mentioning how many other cases he had to deal with. To limit the length of this review he was quick to take our money but as soon as we wanted something to show for it……nothing. We explored other options and that is moving very swiftly and positive for us which shows us Quinn didn’t give his all. Do not book them unless you have money to just throw away and appreciate a business who does not update you and gives you the “we can take your business or we can’t it doesn’t matter” treatment.

We do not delete reviews. And I am pleased to hear that you found the representation you were looking for. Our firm is not a fit for everyone. You mentioned in the review that we sent a demand letter for your husband and that it took time to get an update. We cannot control how quickly or slowly the other side responds, so this can be a challenge. As for compensation, demand letters are a limited engagement - a flat fee for a specific service. Based on your description, it may have been that services were needed beyond the demand letter that could have required additional compensation. Ultimately, if you found an attorney that is a good fit for your family we are pleased to hear that and wish you the best.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
