Robert William Landolt

Robert Landolt was admitted to the Maryland Bar in June of 2014.  In the two years prior to his admission, Robert served as a law clerk at the prestigous Towson law firm of Smith, Gildea & Schmidt.  During his time in the firm's complex civil litigation department, Robert developed key skills in a variety of civil litigation areas, including family law, medical malpractice, business and commercial litigation, contract litigation, personal injury, and class actions.  Robert also worked on matters in nearly every stage of litigation, from the investigation and filing of complaints in state and federal trial courts to the drafting and filing of appellate petitions to the Maryland courts of appeals and the United States Supreme Court.  Robert left his position with Smith, Gildea and Schmidt in 2014 to pursue his dream of operating his own law firm.

 

Robert graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2013 after only two and a half years of study. During law school, Robert excelled both inside and outside the classroom.  In 2013, Robert obtained certification to become a court-appointed mediator in the Maryland Circuit Courts.  In 2012, Robert was selected to compete in the National Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Competition held in Washington, D.C, where he was able to showcase his skills as an oral advocate and legal writer.  In fact, following his selection to the Moot Court team, Robert was awarded "Best Brief," an honor given to the student who submits the most outstanding legal brief.  Also in 2012, Robert successfully completed a summer internship with the Honorable Judge Alexander Wright in the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, where he assisted Judge Wright in drafting judicial opinions based on actual appeals submitted to the Maryland Court of Special Appeals.

 

Prior to his enrollment in law school in 2011, Robert spent six years as a high school teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools.  As a Maryland-certified educator of secondary social studies, Robert taught Economics, American History, American Government, and Psychology to ninth, eleventh, and twelfth-grade students.  During this time, Robert also obtained certification to teach secondary mathematics by taking and passing the Praxis II Mathematics exam.  He was subsequentlly awarded a "Recognition of Excellence" by the testing company for scoring in the top 15% of all test takers from previous years.  Robert used this certification to tutor students in a variety of mathematical disciplines, including Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus.
