you've been warned

I truly regret dealing with her and my friend who recommended her to me regrets it as well; what should have been a fairly easy case to deal with and close out, was drawn out and I eventually lost confidence in her. At first she seemed assertive and driven to take the case then over a course of a fe...w weeks her communication dropped to the point where I actually had to call her office and ask if she was still representing me. Her receptionist stopped taking and answering my calls and I talked to another person in her office who would only take my information. Not what you want to experience when stressed out and going through an investigation. She was reactive instead of proactive and she just waited on law enforcement to return her calls; in the meantime, I was practically begging her to contact my witnesses and speak with them but she never did! She didn't seem to have the sense of urgency I was needing or hoping for and it just got to the point where I lost all confidence in her and fired her. Then I get the invoice: charged for work she never did! (just speaking to her partner about getting witness statements, scanning documents for key words) so I got an invoice for almost $3,000 for just thinking or talking about getting witness statements?! things I suggested she do in the beginning?! I was embarrassed that I kept calling my witnesses telling them to expect a phone call from her and they never heard from her! My friend also felt bad and said he was "sorry" for recommending her to me! In the end, my situation was resolved by another team of attorneys who didn't overcharge me, who were more dedicated to my case, and who were much better at communicating with me (things that are important in my opinion) and who closed the case against me. In the end, I paid her fees/invoice IN FULL and put this all behind me and want nothing else to do with her. I would never in good faith or conscience recommend her to anyone. Of the 4 attorneys I chose to deal with (1 being 'free' via a job union, another being a so-called "super attorney" in Baltimore, and the one I actually benefited from) she was just about as bad as the free one assigned to me from my union. Lesson learned.

Hired for a divorce

This lawyer was rude and arrogant! I would not recommend her to anyone. Before the final trial, she demanded over a weekend that I show up with close to $18000 to clear my account before trial on Monday or she wouldn't represent me. She also recommended that I settle with my ex before finding out how... much money he made for child support and alimony. I refused to settle without knowledge of the whole financial situation.

Excellent and professional

Hiring an attorney can be a challenging and daunting process. However, upon meeting Lorraine Whittaker, having a brief discussion, my decision to hire her as my attorney was made within 10 minutes. It was a great decision. Her professionalism, knowledge, and genuine concern were nothing less than ...stellar.

She is always prepared and ready to represent her clients to the highest level of the profession. She knows the law, the facts of her case and controls the courtroom like few other attorneys that I have seen. She always has the respect of the Judges and the opposing attorneys.
