Prior to joining the firm as a criminal defense attorney, Andres (AJ) Heiney-Gonzalez served as a law clerk to the Honorable Marielsa A. Bernard in the Montgomery County Circuit Court. Upon completion of his clerkship, he was selected to be a Fellow in the Montgomery County Bar Association Leadership Academy Class of 2017.
Mr. Heiney-Gonzalez is committed to serving his community and fighting injustice. Prior to law school he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras and worked as a special education paraeducator in Montgomery County Public Schools.
He remains active in the community by volunteering as a lacrosse coach at Quince Orchard High School and by serving as a Board Member of his HOA in Germantown.
Mr. Heiney-Gonzalez received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland, Francis King Carey School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and received his BA from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association and the Maryland State Bar Association.
