She refused to meet with me before I went to court. She told me it would just be a routine hearing, but there I was given an ultimatum to accept a deal, which was nonnegotiable, or go to trial. Norman told me that I must accept the deal, because I would lose the case, even though I told her I was inn...ocent. The thing I regret second most in my life is accepting that ultimatum. I was not aware of the consequences of pleading guilty, as no one had informed me. I really wish I was just given the opportunity to have a lawyer that would argue my case. I had an extremely strong one, but Norman just wanted to get paid without having to do any work. The Judge told me that this lawyer was my only choice. Frankly, the DC court system is a joke, and if you can afford a real attorney, you must do so. I wouldn't even accept Norman as my lawyer now if someone paid me. I'd be better off representing myself.
