Eduardo Samuel Garcia

Eduardo Garcia carefully evaluates his cases, not only at the outset but throughout the litigation process to devise the best possible strategy for meeting his clients’ goals. Understanding client goals and the realities of each case has enabled Eddie to successfully resolve most cases through deliberate negotiations, without the need for court intervention. However, if the matter does require court intervention Eddie has experience as the lead counsel on cases in the State and federal courts of Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, including jury trial cases.

The primary focus of Eddie’s practice has been employment litigation on behalf of employees ranging from minimum wage and overtime violations to high-end bonus disputes. He is well versed in the requirements and benefits of Maryland and the District of Columbia Wage Payment and Collection Laws as well as the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Business clients of the firm have also benefited from Eddie’s knowledge of employment requirements under Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia and federal law. Eddie brings a unique perspective of how to defend against the tactics of an employee’s attorney and how to preemptively protect companies from wage violation lawsuits. Eddie also represents clients in administrative actions brought by the Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection and the Howard County Office of Human Rights.

As a member commercial litigation department of the firm, Eddie has also been involved in commercial contract disputes, partnership dissolutions and complex business controversy litigation.

While in law school, Eddie served as Editor-in-Chief for the University of Maryland Law Journal of Race, Religion, Gender and Class. He was active in the Latino Law Student Association and was a member of the Leadership Scholars Legacy Endowment’s Executive Committee.

In his free time, Eddie enjoys playing tennis and traveling to Puerto Rico to visit his family.
