Joel Robert Zuckerman

Originally from New Jersey, I landed in Baltimore almost 25 years ago for law school after graduating from the University of Rhode Island and never looked back.

I live and practice law in Montgomery County, Maryland, and have been here for more than 20 years.  My wife and I have two boys, who despite my background playing collegiate soccer, chose to play baseball and swim as their athletic passions.  In addition to our boys, our household includes two rescue dogs, Charlie and Sammy and a full tank of fish.

As an attorney, I believe that my first duty to my clients is to be a problem solver and to try to resolve my client's problems before they reach the courthouse.  If that's not possible, then, with the help of my law partners, we provide our clients with represenation that is equal to any in Maryland.

My firm has a focus on complex family law issues (divorce and custody), with a focus in international and interstate custody matters.  We represent clients at all stages of litigation in state courts, and in Hague abduction proceedings in federal courts.  

I also recently was asked to join the board of directors of a non-profit organization, Return US Home (RUSH), a position which I readily accepted.  RUSH educates the public and public servants about Parental Child Abduction and remedies for its prevention.  RUSH also supports families affected by Parental Child Abduction through research, education and advocacy.
