Abraham Fernando Carpio-Gonzalez

Mr. Carpio started working as an Assistant Public Defender in Baltimore City, and then was Commissioned as an Army JAG Officer. He tried scores of Court Martials in Korea, and then became an Appellate Prosecutor. Since leaving the Army in 2006, Mr. Carpio became an Assistant Attorney General for Criminal Appeals, and an Assistant State's Attorney. Mr. Carpio has ample experience at all levels of criminal litigation. Mr. Carpio currently works as a criminal defense attorney in Maryland.

Since joining private practice in 2009, Mr. Carpio has been handling complex civil cases involving personal injury, including a wrongful death case and a malpractice action.

While a JAG Corps Captain, Mr. Carpio argued several precendent setting cases before the Army Criminal Appeals DIvision and the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. After leaving the Army, then Joe Curran, the Maryland Attorney General appointed Mr. Carpio as an Assistant Attorney General for Criminal Appeals. As an AAG, Mr. Carpio drafted dozens of briefs and argued several cases before the Court of Special Appeals. Mr. Carpio handles appeals and postconviction cases in private practice.

Mr. Carpio worked as a trial Attorney for the prestigious Contract Appeals Division of the United State's Army, litigating several multi-million dollar contract disputes and appeals before the Government Accountability Office against national law firms.
